Currently, no states in the United States license Ayurvedic practitioners, although a few have approved Ayurvedic schools. Many Ayurvedic practitioners are licensed in other health care fields, such as midwifery or massage.

Instead of focusing on licensure, play close attention to the Practitioner's educational background and experience. Ask questions especially related to where they learnt to practice Ayurveda and what types of medical conditions/disorders have they been successful in helping.

Most Ayurvedic practitioners will recommend products and herbs. Make sure you understand the source and quality of the products before consumption.
